Crew Resource Management was established in the 1970´s after Human Behaviour was identified as a main contributor for incidents and accidents in aviation. This findings highlighted failures of interpersonal communication and leadership skills and in addition the missing ability for decision making as source for the majority of accidents in aviation. The primary course named "Cockpit Resource Management" was replaced by the current "Crew Resource Management" to acknowledge all members of a flying crew and since then it became mandatory in aviation.
